Great for big dogs lots of space to stretch out and walk around
We just did a 3-day, 1300 mile, round trip with our 12 week old puppy. Anyone who cringes reading those words has puppy-traveled. It can be a nightmare. This PETICON Large Dog Car Seat, Back Seat Extender for Dogs made our unavoidable trip a pleasure! I looked at many versions of this style dog seat on Amazon but Peticon's stood out for a few reasons. Most importantly, not all of the seats of this design have slits for seat belt tethers and securely tethering our dogs is a must. Secondly, the mesh on 3 sides means that even with a packed back seat, we can see her thru the front mesh and she has air/ AC circulating into the pen. This one also seemed easier to clean. The side zippers mean instead of lifting her up and over the side, I have full access to place her in the seat, then zip the side back up. Because the design is full seat depth, she can interact with us during the trip. We don't need cuddly. We pack her very own washable nest. What we need is safe and secure with room to move around. She had full range of her seat belt tether and I believe the soft structure helper her feel safe. For something this large, it folds down nicely to store. Its connection points are very flexible which means you have many options for securing it. The front overhang seems rigid, although with a 10 pound puppy we didn't really stress the hard floor much. This dog car pen/seat is worth every penny and will get much use. We love it!

This is great so that my husky doesn't take all of the back seat. Its perfect size for my 70lbs husky. It is pretty sturdy however I recommend having a sturdy object on the floor of the back seat so that the front part of the cover sticking out can rest on it for more stability since the floor of the cover is split in two parts (back and front). Maybe they should do it the split left and right for more stability. I like how there are metal rods to hold the sides up so it stays structured when tensioner properly. I did think it is quite pricey for what it is, but no one like it out there yet. I would recommend airing it out as it smells like plastic for some time and my 4runner smelled like it for a week.
The husky heeler has been contained and the seat is still intact after one week. Set up is fairly easy and the product is sturdy and able to support the weight of a large 55/60 lb dog.
